I’ve been styling women for over 20 years so lets just say, I’ve learned a thing or two. I realized years ago that most women are too busy to be creative in their closets. That’s where I come in! Having tangible ‘go-to’ curated outfits are so important to have at a moments notice. I’ve rounded up 7 Fall Go-To Outfit Ideas to help you look chic and modern every time you ask “what should I wear”. These 7 FALL FAIL-PROOF OUTFIT IDEAS always work!
These outfit ideas are simple yet work in all four seasons. And the best part, you probably have most of these staple pieces already in your closet! But if you don’t, I’m including links to some new favorites (which many are on friends & family sale). Update your fall closet with these new staples so that you are ready for any occasion that comes up!

When you don’t know what to wear, remember these fool-proof formulas…
1
A SLIP DRESS + BLAZER
Whether your occasion requires heels or casual sneakers, a slip dress + blazer always looks chic!! This has not only been a staple look for me personally getting dressed up for work over the years, but also recommended to thousands of happy repeat customers. You can also adapt this formula to a slip skirt, tee and blazer as well. A slip-dress so comfortable because it is a looser fit.
I saw a great washable silk dress with a higher neckline at the conference last week. I can’t believe the price is only $79 for silk, tap here. This style is easy to wear with a regular bra and will not show straps. It also covers up more if that is a concern in the workplace. It comes in many colors but I’m obsessed with the brown color!
2
A GREAT WHITE SHIRT + MODERN JEANS
When you’re short on time and need a quick, easy, and chic outfit, remember that sometimes the simplest outfits can be the best looks. Make sure to have these two wardrobe staples ready to go: a crisp white cotton shirt that has fresh interesting details, and a pair of elevated modern jeans. Stylist tip: Wide leg jeans worn with a heel always makes your legs look longer.
3
DENIM ON DENIM
A denim top worn with a denim bottom is a very fashionable trending look. One of my favorite looks is a denim blazer with matching jeans. Cinq a ‘Sept makes a great denim suit. I’m often asked if the denim needs to match. The answer depends if you want to look dressier or more casual. A mismatched denim look like a darker top with a lighter bottom for example, in my opinion looks more casual and everyday. So, don’t worry about mixing shades of blue, it;s a great daytime casual look.
4
ANYTHING LEOPARD
Leopard patterns are so popular right now. It’s easy to find anything leopard these days, however not all leopard prints are equal. I have a tip to elevate your leopard outfit. One way to look chic is to be particular about fabrics and quality. Seek out better quality fabrics such as silk, organza, satin, cotton, and even velvet.
5
HEAD-TO-TOE BLACK
So often when I was in a hurry to get out the door, I would grab a few black pieces to throw on real quick. This head-to-toe black formula always works! It also will make you feel kinda cool which in turn brings confidence. Here are a few of my fav black pieces:
6
TALL BOOTS + MIDI LENGTH
This look admittedly is very me! Knee high boots + a midi length skirt or dress always looks AMAZING!! Wear this look anywhere! It’s an appropriate wear-to-work look, dinner outfit, date night, cocktails with friends, wear to church & brunch, I could go on and on. If you already own a great black tall boot, look for either a fun color or go neutral like these in tan/cognac. You can’t go wrong with cognac!
7
ADD A VEST
If you don’t own a vest, why not?! I love a cute black vest with just about anything! Whether you add a tank or tee or wear it on its own, vests look great with jeans, slip skirts, and trousers. I also love a 3 piece suit for women! Once the whether gets chillier, add a sheer or fitted layer under your vest for warmth. Throw on a leather bomber and jeans for a cool updated outfit.
