I was very fortunate to spend the winter this year again in Arizona followed by a month in Charlotte where I welcomed my 5th grand baby Hayes, who happens to be the sweetest and strongest baby boy ever! Then we spent a week at the beach and let me tell you I could get used to this life of leisure. Well maybe I just really like the cool wardrobe that accompanies this relaxed life:) Dressing casually chic is now the work place norm not to mention perfect for vacation and pretty much everywhere these days. Anyway, I found some really great summer casual essentials that I think you’ll love too! I promise you these are the pieces you will reach for all spring/summer! Allow me to share several brands that do casual chic extremely well.
Starting with one of my favorite brands for cute, casual and comfy looks is The Great. Super fun tops, cotton dresses, novelty lounge pants. and shorts and more, they have it all! And if you’re lucky, tap here to score The Great on sale.
FRANK & EILEEN
The first piece I ever purchased from Frank & Eileen was a drawstring sweatshirt skirt (below) with slits on both sides and the matching zipper up jacket. That was many years ago and they still make those same pieces so you know this brand is classic! I’m pretty picky about fabrics and quality so I think you’ll be impressed with their fabrics woven in Italy and made in California.
More recently, I’ve been living in the Frank & Eileen Italian crop chinos in washed black! Instead of jeans, they are nice a nice alternative plus the summer weight fabric is so soft and light! You may have seen the other F&E piece I’ve been wearing on repeat, the blue ticking stripe linen shirtdress. Worn as a beach cover up or just a great run around dress – nice and light! I love it so much that the black cotton shirtdress version is on my wish list 🙂
The Rails has really expanded its assortment from their famous Ellis gauzy button up shirt and the equally popular plaid flannel button up shirt everyone loves! They’ve expanded the collection and its pretty fabulous and priced so good! Check out this beautiful silk slip dress here and here . You cant go wrong with the Rails, no wonder it sells out so fast!
I just bought the green stripe t shirt and can’t wait to show you all the ways to wear it!
A stripe T shirt paired with jeans or chinos is the classic french girl uniform. I found a great blazer to wear with a stripe t shirt here in white and here in black for $95 . Check out this skirt which would be great with a stripe t as well! Stripe t shirts come in all price ranges… I’ve linked a few of my fav’s here.
